Metropolitan Police Records
Staff records of the
Metropolitan Police Force which give details of name, rank, warrant
number, division and dates of appointment and removal are available from
about 1830 to the mid-1900s. The staff records include pension records
which contain detailed personal records such as description, date and
place of birth, marital status. Sometimes names of parents and next of kin
are also given. After 1889, it is necessary to know the approximate date
of retirement to use this class.
